Choosing Best Water Heater

Excessive water flows to the temperature relief valve (TPR).

The valve seat may have sediment that causes water to flow from the overflow valve. This could indicate excessive water pressure or temperature. Follow the instructions on the label for how to operate the valve. Lift the lever carefully to let water flow from the overflow pipes. After allowing water to flow for a few moments, close the lever. The water should cease to flow. If the water is still flowing, please call Plumber Epping for an appointment with one of our licensed service representatives.

Insufficient hot water flow

Does your water heater stop working? You should check to make sure the isolation valve has been turned to “on”. The isolation valve may be a black knob or tap-type head. It is located lower than the water heater outlet. You should keep your hands clear of any other valves that may be connected to the water heater.

Hot water cylinder that leaks

Leaking hot water cylinders is usually a sign that you need a new hot water system. Plumber Epping can help you replace it. Follow the below instructions to shut off the hot water supply. Turn off the power at the meter box by turning the power off at an isolation valve, which is usually located at a lower level than the water heater inlet. Look for the circuit breaker or fuse switch labelled “Hot Water,” HWS, or Water Heater for electric systems. To isolate the gas, turn the valve a quarter turn clockwise.

My system has no hot water

Replace the fuse on your switchboard with a wire that is of the right rating. Reset the circuit breaker to “on” if it has tripped. A blown fuse, or a tripped circuit breaker, is usually a sign that there is a problem. Call Plumber Epping today to book an appointment. Do not remove any electrical covers that could expose wires or terminals.
